OCCI, Inc. is an engineering contractor with extensive experience in marine and heavy construction over the past 25 years. The company's primary
focus has been lock and dam rehabilitation along with
complex steel repair and bridge construction. OCCI is known for leading the way in innovative techniques and
work methods,
and has established relationships with numerous Corps of Engineers Districts,
State DOTs, Rail and Public Works Owners based on the depth of engineering
capabilities and final product integrity.
Located near Columbia, Missouri
this privately held company has grown at
a 25% compounded annual growth rate over the past five years and expects to continue to
grow at this rate. We are seeking a Project Manager who has experience in bridge work or
similar civil construction projects.
General
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing all facets of the project. Must be able to fully wrap their arms around a project and own it.
- Managing the project from start to finish. This includes: providing oversight to field superintendents, assuring safety and quality procedures are being followed, and schedules and cost budgets are being met.
- Effectively managing changes orders in a way that assures client satisfaction while maximizing project profitability.
- Handling all aspects of contract negotiations with owners and sub-contractors.
- Identifying innovative work methods to effectively reduce the cost of projects.
- Creating the project budget and managing to assure that the targets are achieved.
- Maintaining a close relationship with the project owner to assure that expectations are being met.
- Managing subcontractors and material suppliers as necessary to effectively complete the project.
- Establishing invoicing formats and procedures with the client and providing appropriate input to assure the billing and collections process.
- Analyzing and projecting job cost and profitability of the overall project.
- Conducting regular field inspections of the projects as necessary.
- Representing OCCI in project management and customer meetings.
Employment
Pre-requisites:
- At least 5 years of project management experience in bridge or similar civil construction.
- Passion for bridge building and challenging civil construction projects.
- Experience in dealing directly with owners/clients providing full service in all aspects of the project.
- Must be strong at developing budgets, analyzing costs and understanding financial results.
- Good communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to adapt to the OCCI processes and systems.
- Must look professional and handle self as a professional at all times.
- Engineering or construction management degree is a plus, but not required.
- Should have excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
- A working knowledge of P6 or similar project scheduling software.
- Requires strong problem-solving skills.
- May require some travel for regional, out-of-town work.
